In September 2008, Hughes Macdonald and Davidson were delighted to announce the opening of their new practice at 75 High Street, Banchory.
John Hughes, Alan Macdonald and Donnie Davidson formed the business in February 1988, opening firstly in Peterhead, followed by Inverurie in May 1989 and then in Turriff in October 2003. They were joined by optometrist Andrew McLeod in July 2007.
When the decision was made to expand Banchory was identified as a thriving town receptive to a new opticians. The aim of the practice is to offer a professional service in the test room, married with competitively priced frames and lenses to suit every pocket – from our solo range of spring-loaded side frames at £59.95 complete with single vision lenses, to top of the range Prada and Versace frames to name but two designers from our extensive collection.
Staffing the practice are optometrists Anne Glennie, who will be well known to the people of Banchory having worked previously in the town, together with John Hughes and Andrew McLeod on a regular basis. Completing the team is manager Donna Robinson, a dispensing assistant with a wealth of optical experience, and Jennifer Gray, our receptionist/ assistant.
